To my grandfather, the greatest love of my life
The idea of this exhibition was born three years ago when I went to India to conduct a pilot study. I was working with older people who didn’t have a good life, who were not happy, who thought they were forgotten, and no one was interested in them. I told them that they were beautiful and they didn’t understand what I meant. It’s been three years since I began photographing older people. I talk to them; I want to know what they dream about, what they are afraid of, what they love. I want to let them know that they are interesting. Through these photographs I want to show the subjects, and the rest of the world, that they are beautiful not in spite of their age, but because of it.
